Are you a downtown business owner or landlord?

Let’s talk about how you can use this grant to your advantage!

In April 2020, the City of Columbia announced a grant that can help building owners and tenants upgrade elements of their facades to help improve commerce and visual beauty of the business on the square. You can read the entirety of this grant and services on the City website.

What can you improve through my design services?

  • Awnings (new or replacements)*

  • Signage of all kinds (dimensional, lighted, blade, flat, etc)*

  • Professional Door restoration - New paint or stain, trimmings (push/pull plates, hardware, etc)

Improve More than just Signs and Awnings

There are other available opportunities to improve your building’s facade, including brick work, painting and structure repair. While I do not offer those services, more info can be found on the city’s website.

What does it cost?

The grant will pay out 75% off the total cost of your project up to $5,000 or $10,000 depending on the nature of the project and what the board approves for your specific project. You will only owe 25% off the total grant awarded ($1,250/$2,500)

Why Use my Services?

Oftentimes, going directly to sign and awning manufacturers puts the responsibility for the design and knowledge of your project in your hands. The grant also requires that you submit 3 bids from contractors. That’s a lot of work! I use my 15 years of design experience to create, or partner with some of the best makers in the area to create, something that perfectly fits your business’s needs so you don’t have to deal with all the designing, permitting, and brokering deals throughout the grant process.
